Announcing the Finalists for the 2024 Grand Award of Design

The finalists for this year’s award have now been selected. The juries in both the Gold and Pioneer categories have selected three standout finalists in each category. Organized by Teknikföretagen in collaboration with Techarenan, the Grand Award of Design celebrates innovation that drives both business success and responsible practices.

Gold Category Finalists:
- FläktGroup: ArtX air valve offers seamless ventilation which integrates into ceilings or walls for a concealed look. Design by: Fernström Arkitektur & Design
- Husqvarna’s SmartGuard™ helmet enhances safety and ergonomics for handheld cutting, preventing kickbacks with an integrated design of a chin guard.
- Ullman Seats protect high-speed boat operators from impact-induced injuries with their maintenance-free seats.
Pioneer Category Finalists:
- SKUGGA have created the first simple, fully scalable mass-produced platform and ecosystem for smart fashion and design-oriented eyewear.
- SutureTOOL™ standardizes suturing in open abdominal surgeries to reduce complications and costs. Design by: Suturion AB, SIMEC Instruments AB, Join AB, Yellon AB
- Papersurf presents its snowsurf made from PaperShell’s revolutionary bio-composite, showcasing the future of eco-friendly sports equipment. Design By: NinePointCircle
All finalists will have the opportunity to showcase their designs at Techarena Zero 2024 . The three finalists in each category are competing for a cash prize—250,000 SEK for the Gold Category and 100,000 SEK for the Pioneer Category. Along with the prize money, the winners will also secure a spot to exhibit at The TechArena 2025.
The winners will be announced at the Grand Design Awards ceremony on October 24, 2024.
